CDE PROGRAMME - DEPT OF ORTHODONTICS

The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, RVS Dental College and Hospital, organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Programme on 13th July 2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at SMT Padmavathy Ammal Memorial Auditorium.
The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing the knowledge and clinical understanding of orthodontic management of facial asymmetries among undergraduate students, postgraduate students, CRRIs, and faculty members.
The academic session featured an invited guest lecture on "Mandibular Asymmetry Correction" delivered by Dr. Balasubramanian Madhan, BDS, MDS, MSc, MA, PGDHM, Professor, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.
The lecture provided an in-depth overview of the diagnosis, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary management of mandibular asymmetry, emphasizing both orthodontic and surgical treatment approaches. The session also highlighted recent advances in clinical techniques and evidence-based treatment protocols.
The programme commenced with a formal inauguration, followed by the welcome address and introduction of the guest speaker. The lecture was highly informative and interactive, with enthusiastic participation from the audience during the discussion session. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, the management, principal, faculty members, and participants for making the event a grand success.
The CDE programme was successfully organized under the guidance of the Principal, Head of the Department, faculty members, postgraduate students, and the organizing committee of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. The programme served as an excellent platform for academic enrichment and encouraged participants to broaden their understanding of the diagnosis and management of mandibular asymmetry in contemporary orthodontic practice.
