On 1 august 2025.the department of Periodontology at RVS Dental College & Hospital celebrated Oral Hygiene Day in the honour of the birth anniversary of Dr.Govind B. Shankwalker, Father of Periodontology in India. The event commenced at the S.M.T Padmavathyammal memorial auditorioum with the blessings of Dr. K.V.Kuppusamy ,Chairman of RVS Group of institutions and guidance from Dr.V.K.Vijay ,MDS, Director/principal of RVS Dental College & Hospital.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr.V.K.Vijay and Dr.DeepshikaSaravan., head of the department of Periodontology, followed by Oral Hygiene reports and introduction of keynote speaker dr. Baljeet Singh MDS., Principal, Himachal Dental College And Hospital, delivered a compelling webinar titiled ‘ peri implantitis- silent signal before implant trouble. The UGs and PGs have bagged prizes in the National and International conventions and conferences and competition which were appreciated in this occasion. An engaging "I ❤Perio" selfie booth was launched by the department to spark interest and attract participation among students and patients‘On behalf of Oral hygiene day a MEGA FREE SCALING CAMP was organized in on 1/8/25-8/8/25 where 487patients were screened and treatment was done and Oral Hygiene measures and pamphlets were advised.
